One particular advantage of using an external GPU enclosure is the fact that it enables you to swap out graphics cards quickly and easily. External GPUs can be paired with a compatible workstation- or consumer class graphics card, making notebooks significantly more versatile than ever before.

In the following video, Roman „der8auer“ Hartung hooked up an external graphics card to his notebook via the ASUS ROG XG Station 2, and then he took things up another notch be overclocking the installed ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Strix.
