CES will be taking place between 8.01. and 12.01.2019 in Las Vegas. CES is one of the largest exhibitions for electronics companies in the world of PC hardware outside of Computex in Taipei. It also happens to be one of the most popular events for introducing new products. The Texan chip manufacturer AMD will – if rumours are true – use the show to demonstrate their brand new 7 nm graphics cards and processor series: Ryzen 3000 and Radeon RX 3000. <\/p>\n

At wccftech.com new rumours on the graphics cards (external link)<\/a> and processors(external link)<\/a> from AMD<\/strong> have appeared. Computerbase.de (external link)<\/a> also cites a previously reliable source for predictions relating to AMD’s Epyc series of CPUs. On this occasion there are rumours about the new RX series of graphics cards that are based on the Navi GPU architecture as well as 3000-series Ryzen processors. Both ranges are rumoured to be manufactured using the new 7nm node and built using a new architecture.<\/p>\n

AMD Radeon RX 3080: The 7nm Navi Graphics Cards<\/h2>\n

AMD Radeon RX 3080<\/strong> is rumoured to be the name of the upcoming top model of AMD’s latest generation of graphics cards. The gaming graphics card is rumoured to use 8GB of GDDR6-VRAM and will be based around Navi 10. The Radeon RX 3080<\/strong> may offer 15 percent improved performance over the Radeon RX Vega 64 – with a TDP of just 150 Watts! The combination of efficiency and performance unlocked by using a 7nm node looks to be impressive.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Radeon RX 3070<\/strong> will, if rumours are to be believed, also include 8 GB of GDDR6-VRAM but will be based on Navi 12. With a TDP of just 120 Watts, the performance of Vega 56 is similarly impressive. Navi 12 is also rumoured to be used for the RX 3060<\/strong> and deliver the performance of an RX 580 with 4 GB GDDR6 at a TDP of just 75 Watts. The Radeon RX 3000-series of graphics cards should match the names of the new processors.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

AMD Ryzen 3000: Zen 2 & 7 nm Process<\/h2>\n

The Ryzen processors from the new 3000- series could also be presented at CES 2019. Supposedly AMD has ten CPUs based on the Zen 2 architecture waiting in the wings. The flagship might be called the Ryzen 9 3850X<\/strong>, which will offer 16 cores and 32 threads. The processor is rumoured, due to architectural optimisations and the move to 7nm, be capable of operating with a 5,1 GHz Boost Clock – at a TDP of just 135 Watts!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A chiplet design will be used for the Ryzen processors, similar to that of the large server CPUs. The individual Zen 2 CPU dies will be connected to one another by means of Infinity Fabric, and the same holds true for Navi GPU CUs when it comes to APUs. It seems that Zen 2- and Navi dies will be manufactured in 7 nm, although a 14 nm die may form a stopgap measure. The AM4 socket will continue to be used as before, although depending on the chipset used, especially on older motherboards, some of the new Ryzen CPUs‘ latest features may not be used. Older rumours about the new Ryzen processors also hint that the L3 cache will be doubled in size. Even memory support will be extended and optimised. <\/p>\n
