Aerocool Playa Slim Micro-ATX Case - Black Window

Aerocool is entering into battle against the world of games consoles with the Playa Slim, begging the question: "Who needs a Console?". Two elements of this case have been given particular attention, namely the appearance and the form factor. The result of this is a remarkably compact and slim tower, one that can be set either vertically or horizontally while looking great in either due to the addition of RGB lighting.

The Aerocool Playa Slim in Detail

The exterior of the Playa Slim from Aerocool is striking in several ways, Aerocool hasn't compromised in the looks department one bit, and the result is a very elegant case. The sleek black front panel is interrupted by two intersecting plastic strips, the longer of which is illuminated with RGB-LEDs. The case has a total of 13 different lighting modes. The individual modes can be switched through using a button located on the front of the case. The power button is likewise located to the front. The I/O panel, which includes two USB 3.0 ports as well as two 3,5" mm jacks for HD Audio and a microphone is located on the top of the case.

To provide increased airflow, up to two 80 mm fans can be installed in the case. The top comes with a pre-installed fan courtesy of Aerocool themselves, thereby ensuring warm air can be exhausted outside of the case effectively. GPUs may be up to 240 mm in length and must meet the low-profile form factor standards. CPU coolers can be up to 80 mm tall. In spite of the case's ultra-compact dimensions, the Playa Slim can also support a 5,25" drive and this helps make the case the perfect choice for an HTPC system. Micro-ATX- and Mini-ITX boards are compatible. Instead of a 3,5" drive, users can instead install a 2,5" drive, meaning a total of two slots are available for 2,5" SSDs or -HDDs.
