Akasa offers the ideal solution with this expansion card to provide a system with additional fast USB 3.1 ports. The expansion card can be used in any system with a free PCIe 2.0 or PCIe 3.0 slot, but it also works in all PCIe x4, x8, and x16 slots.
The card features two external USB 3.1 Type-C ports and three additional Type-A ports. This allows for the connection of external USB devices with particularly high bandwidth. Additionally, the ports support Fast Charging, with the required power supplied through a SATA connection.
The USB ports are capable of maximum speeds of 10 Gbit/s, making them twice as fast as USB 3.0 ports. Thanks to the use of the PCI Express interface, these very high data rates are not an issue for the card and can be fully utilised. Of course, the new standard is fully backward compatible with existing devices.
