The reservoirs of the aqualis-ECO series are equipped with a borosilicate glass tube, which, unlike the acrylic glass often used for tubular reservoirs, has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, very low thermal expansion, and excellent chemical and thermal resistance. The glass tube has an outer diameter of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. The base and lid of the aqualis series are made of Delrin, with the lid and bottom connected by a nickel-plated brass tube. An optical highlight is the integrated water column effect.
When the return line is connected to the central port of the aqualis, water flows through the central brass tube to the top and exits through eight openings, which, especially when combined with lighting, creates a real eye-catcher. A thin acrylic plate near the bottom of the aqualis minimizes air entry into the loop. Alternatively, the return line can be connected to a side port, allowing water to flow back into the reservoir from the bottom. For this configuration, a baffle plate is included to ensure good venting of the loop.
The aqualis PRO variants additionally feature an integrated acrylic window at the base, providing space for the installation of up to six LEDs (type 5 mm / not included) and are also pre-configured for the later installation of a fill level sensor.
