Product information - X370 Killer SLI, AMD X370 Mainboard - Sockel AM4Motherboards with the AM4 socket serve as the platform for the AMD Ryzen (Summit Ridge) quad-core, hexa-core and octa-core CPUs as well as "Bristol Ridge" and "Raven Ridge" desktop APUs from the A-series with integrated GPUs unlike the old Athlon X4 which came without an iGPU. The advanced AMX X370, B350 and A320 chipsets are aimed at the enthusiast, mainstream and entry-level segments coming with an abundance of modern I/O interfaces and connectors for hardware peripherals, while additional data links are provided by the GPU/APU.
The processor's integrated memory controller supports AM4 motherboards as well as fast and energy-efficient DDR4 RAM in dual-channel mode, as well as specialist ECC error-correcting memory depending on the motherboard. The Layout of the ATX-Format ASRock X370 Killer SLIThe ASRock X370 Killer SLI is a motherboard utilising the ATX format and comes with a lightning-fast 16x PCI-Express 3.0 slot that is connected to the chipset via eight lanes. Furthermore there are four PCIe x1 slots available for additional expansion cards. As an X370 motherboard the X370 Killer SLI supports AMD's Crossfire- and NVIDIA's SLI-technologies for multi-GPU setups. Up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM can be installed into the four RAM slots, operating at a maximum of 2.666 MHz (overclocked).

Data storage devices such as SSDs and hard drives are managed via six SATA 6G connectors (incl. RAID support) as well as one horizontal M.2 slot that comes with access to four PCI-Express 3.0 lanes and, consequently, extremely high access speeds of up to 32 Gbit/s, and an M.2 port using a SATA 6G connector. M.2 SSDs measuring from 42 mm to 110 mm in length can be used and furthermore the cutting-edge NVM-Express protocol is also supported. This protocol has been optimised to take advantage of the parallel processing utilised by modern PCIe SSDs.
A further highlight of the ASRock X370 Killer SLI is to be found on the reverse of the motherboard, specifically the fact that the motherboard includes a USB 3.0 port with a Type C connector. This new type of USB Type C port is particularly slim and allows connectors to be inserted in either direction. USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 can reach a maximum transfer rate of up to 5 Gbit/s per port.
Special refinements to the ASRock X370 Killer SLI include LED lighting. Last but not least the board comes with onboard compatibility for five fans with 4-pin PWM connectors. The range of internal connections encompass two headers for USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 for a total of four ports.
The I/O shield located on the rear of the mainboard provides connectivity for additional devices and components via USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, Gigabit LAN, universal PS/2, five audio outputs and an S/PDIF output for connecting 7.1 surround sound systems to the ASRock X370 Killer SLI. The motherboard also supports an HDMI output via the integrated APU/GPU.
