Das Keyboard 5QS is the second generation of the smart 5Q-keyboard, which offers innovative ways to increase productivity with the integrated Das Keyboard Q-technology. Individually customisable key lighting allows for colour coding of info such as weather, stock quotes, project progress or CPU usage in order to keep track of what matters most.

The keyboard features RGB LED lighting with various configuration options, four different RGB profiles, and a macro editor. With the unique Q-Dial which also serves as a volume knob, you can quickly access a preview window to display stored notifications. This helps to maintain focus.

Das Keyboard 5QS: Focus on what matters

The 5QS offers a unique feature, transforming an input-only device into a deeply customisable and informative control centre. Set up individual LED notifications using the integrated Das Keyboard Q technology to free up space on your screen. The app Das Keyboard Q allows you to configure these notifications, which can be previewed via the Q-Dial volume knob.

Further adjustments can be made by adding applets, which can be placed on single keys or key groups with an easy-to-use drag and drop workflow. At a basic level, these applets offer access to information such as the weather, stock, quotes, project progress or CPU usage, with the open source API adding near limitless functionality. Furthermore, the 5QS provides a gaming mode with full USB N-key rollover. This prevents ghosting or other delays when pressing multiple keys simultaneously. Additionally, you can use the integrated macro editor to increase your productivity by recording key sequences.

The keyboard can be switched to the built-in Mac mode via a keyboard shortcut, in order to provide better compatibility with the Apple operating system.

The anodised aluminium cover complements the design of the keyboard. Both the detachable palm rest and the 2m long USB cable aid in ergonomics by supporting the wrists when typing and allowing for easier cable management.

Informative RGB LED lighting

Another highlight of the Das Keyboard 5QS is the RGB+ lighting, which is remarkably bright and shines in 16.8M different colours. These can be deeply customized with the Das Keyboard Q app.

Previously configured notifications can be colour coded by their level of urgency. An approaching deadline could for instance be displayed in increasingly alerting colours, ranging from green to yellow and finally red. Using the integrated RGB profile editor, which comes with pre-configured profiles, up to four profiles can be created and stored.
