The Ducky One 3 Mist Grey TKL Gaming Keyboard in Detail
The mechanical gaming keyboard Ducky One 3 has been designed to provide you with the best possible typing experience. With high-quality workmanship and optimised for short response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing feel. Additionally, the switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, making them incredibly easy to replace without any soldering.
The version of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in the 80% TKL form factor. By omitting the numeric keypad, it takes up less space on the desk but is also less suitable for office applications.
Mechanical Switches in Detail: Cherry MX Red
This version features Cherry MX Red switches. These key switches have a linear switch characteristic and are characterised by a low resistance. This makes them an excellent choice for fast multiple clicks in action games and first-person shooters, as a tactile bump is not necessarily required for quick presses. Furthermore, they are very quiet.QUACK Mechanics
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its design philosophy QUACK Mechanics. Ducky considers four essential aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilisers.
That is why almost all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality PBT keycaps. The semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular among keyboard modders as it is resistant to wear. Ducky casts the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key markings are always clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the typical shine that occurs with intensive use in other plastics. This keeps the keyboard looking new for a long time.
Flat Housing and Soft Sound
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and relieves the wrist in conjunction with the three-stage feet.
To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances when typing and hard keystrokes.
