The
Shine 7 is the next generation of high-quality mechanical gaming keyboards from the now famous and popular Shine series from Ducky. In fact, this variant also brings improvements that we didn't even know we needed: instead of plastic or aluminium, the top is made of a zinc alloy, significantly harder than aluminium and much more resistant to scratches. This model also has useful features such as RGB-LED backlighting, macro and multimedia function keys, as well as high-quality cherry switches. With virtually unlimited configurability and the unique build quality only
Ducky can provide, the Shine 7 series of gaming keyboards represents the key to success over digital competitors.
The Ducky Shine 7 Gaming Keyboard at a Glance:
- Premium mechanical Cherry MX Red switches
- Impressive RGB-LED backlighting
- PBT Double-Shot keycaps for increased durability
- Full Anti-Ghosting with N-Key rollover USB
- Macro- & multimedia function keys
- Removable USB-C cable with gold-plated connectors
Mechanical Cherry MX Red Switches
This version of the
Ducky Shine 7 employs
Cherry MX Red switches. Cherry MX Red switches offer a very light, almost imperceptible activation point and are characterised by their low activation force. This makes them ideal for multiple clicks in short succession, such as in FPS games, since a tactile activation point is not necessarily important, especially as keys will be quickly and repeatedly in the heat of battle in any case.
Functions & Features of the Ducky Shine 7 Gaming Keyboard
The
Ducky Shine 7, like the Ducky One and the Ducky Shine 6, utilises a powerful and reliable
ARM M3 Micro-Controller that controls the keyboard's functions and LED lighting effects. Additionally, it optimises communications between the keyboard and the PC while also enabling users to save information such as macros and profiles.
Thanks to
USB N-Key Rollover, users are able to press multiple keys simultaneously without worrying about ghosting or any other input delays. Moreover, the rollover function is reduced to six keys. The
1.000 Hertz Report Rate from the USB interface means that the keyboard updates the PC with the latest button presses every single millisecond for maximum responsiveness.
For maximum grip on your desk or table, the
Ducky Shine 7 includes rubberised feet that can be adjusted to three different levels. These prevent unwanted slipping in the heat of online competition while also giving users a comfortable, ergonomic typing experience.
Design, Aesthetics & Materials
The design of the
Shine 7 has changed markedly in comparison to its predecessors. Most strikingly however is the new surface to the keyboard, consisting of a
zinc alloy. This is
significantly harder than aluminium, which reduces the likelihood of scratches or abrasions. This is also accompanied by a design change that more closely resembles the traditional appearance of mechanical keyboards. However, the corners and edges of the
Shine 7 are slightly rounded, giving it a modern look.
The keycaps are made from polybutylenterephthalate, or PBT for short, and are coloured using the sought after dye-sub manufacturing process meaning that they
last markedly longer than their ABS competitors. In this process, plastic is cast around a shaped piece of metal or plastic so that the two components are joined together. The lower part of the keys is made from a translucent material, while the upper layer, except for the relevant part, does not allow any unwanted light to shine through. This means that the LEDs under the keys make the letters and special characters on the keyboard shine even brighter.
Stylish RGB LED Backlighting
The highlight of the
Ducky Shine 7 is the
RGB LED illumination, with which users will enjoy the ability to customise the look of their new keyboard. It offers
a total of eleven different lighting modes , some of which are rather more unusual than the others. Compared to the keyboard's predecessors, this version includes New Equalizer, Tetris and Alpha lighting effects. Thanks to the
LED zone customisation mode, you can also create your own profiles for lighting the keys and then configure them according to the user's preferences. In addition to the LED modes, the intensity of the illumination and the speed of the effects can also be set quickly and easily. If necessary, the backlight can be completely deactivated.
The special feature of the
Ducky keyboards is the
completely softwareless configuration of the RGB-LED illumination. All settings and changes can be made using various key combinations. Alternatively, RGB LED lighting can be configured with Razer's Chroma Broadcast.
Hint:Ducky changes the spacebar design according to the zodiac sign of the current year. The images do not always match the actual design on the keyboard.
