The BitFenix Shogun Mid Tower is the newest case from this ambitious manufacturer, drawing inspiration from the Samurai of Japanese legend. The „Shogun“ in the title refers to the ancient Japanese military title bestowed upon the chief of the warrior caste known as „Samurai“, and the mere mention of whose name would leave his opponents trembling in awe. As such, the case not only promises the respect of your opponents at the next LAN party, but more than that, an abundance of space for E-ATX motherboards and smaller, as well as graphics cards up to 41 cm in length and CPU coolers up to 17,5 cm in height. The black mid tower also upstages the competition when it comes to looks since the premium aluminium components and two tinted tempered-glass side panels provide a fearless – and peerless – overall appearance in its price class.

Premium Design with Aluminium & Tempered-Glass Components
BitFenix places a premium on appearances, and for that reason BitFenix has put their best foot forward when it comes to the design of this case – and the same holds true for other aspects, including their commitment to user-friendly design. Two round-edged
aluminium-panels on the upper and lower sides of the case lend it a clean and understated look as well as providing additional stability and preventing unwanted dust build-up. This design feature is surpassed only by the twin tinted tempered-glass side panels, both of which can be opened without tools from either side.
As established previously by the renowned BitFenix Aurora case, the Shogun is also capable of mounting two SSDs in pride of place directly behind the left side panel. Customisable lighting can also be installed, and BitFenix offers the ASUS certified ASUS Aura RGB-LED controller to allow this customisation via two onboard Chroma Slots. The illuminated SSD brackets offer the user the option to light the SSDs in a colour of their choosing and to colour-coordinate them with the rest of the system.
Spacious Mid Tower with Plenty of Space for Hardware & Cooling
The interior of the BitFenix Shogun proved to be very spacious, and in addition to support for motherboards in E-ATX, ATX, micro ATX and mini ITX form factors, perfectly capable of housing high-performance power supplies up to 250 mm in length, graphics cards up to 410 mm in length and CPU coolers of up to 175 mm in height. Furthermore the removable drive cages offer space for up to six 3,5 inch oder 2,5 inch hard drives. Should that not be enough, the two 2,5 inch slots behind the motherboard tray as well as both Chroma slots expand the maximum drive capacity even further.
BitFenix built the Shogun from the ground up for maximum cooling performance with three 120 mm fans coming pre-installed, and should that not be enough, there is space to install several further fans. Water cooling hobbyists are also offered a multitude of options, with the roof of the case offering support for radiators up to 360 mm in size, the front slots providing space for radiators up to 280 mm in size, and even the rear of the case providing space for a 140 mm radiator.
