Perfectly petite! The DAN Case drew a lot of attention with its first version. Daniel Hansen, the developer, has made the smallest gaming case in the world, a case in which despite its diminutive dimensions, you can fit a Mini-ITX board as well as a powerful CPU in addition to a 295 mm long graphics card. It is even possible to fit a GeForce GTX 1080 from NVIDIA or a Vega card from AMD into one of these shoebox-sized mini cases. In order to ensure the powerful hardware receives the appropriate degree of cooling, Hanson had a few tricks up his sleeve to make the new Version 3 water cooling compatible too!
The Features of the DAN Case A4-SFX V3:
Ultra compact dimensions with a volume of just 7.25 Litres
Premium aluminium with a hairline finish surface in black and silver
Superb craftsmanship thanks to Lian Li’s manufacturing
Space for powerful SFX- or SFX-L power supplies & three 2,5″ storage devices
Some of the New Developments in Version 3:
Vertical bracket for 120 mm AiO
3M Riser module from Lian Li with full PCI-Express 3.0 speeds
Drill holes for fan-less HDPLEX 400W Hi-Fi-DC ATX power supply
Thanks to their unique layout, the ultra-compact Mini-ITX case even offers sufficient space for high-end graphics cards. These will be mounted to the rear of the motherboard tray. A riser cable comes pre-installed and ready for this purpose and is coloured in black so as to round out the premium look of the case. The side panels and roof come in stylish brushed aluminium, generously proportioned with round air inlets. The interior was designed in such a way that not one square millimetre goes to waste, utilising a natural kind of ‚chimney‘ effect whereby the heat produced by components is channelled upwards and additional fan cooling is rendered unnecessary.
In order to successfully push the high-powered hardware justice, this case, since Version 2, comes with a single 92 mm fan slot located underneath the power supply. A compatible AiO could be mounted here. In this version, Daniel Hansen integrated a sidewards facing bracket to enable users to install additional AiO-style water cooling up to 120 mm in size. Depending on the orientation in which the AiO is installed, there remains sufficient space for a high-end graphics card up to 273 mm in length when using a compact, fan-less 400 Watt Hi-Fi DC ATX HDPLEX power supply.
Not for nothing is the DAN case renowned for being the very smallest case available in terms of retaining superb component compatibility: It’s as large as a shoebox and yet its capacity is over 7 Litres. The flawlessly crafted SFF case is created courtesy of Lian Li. Its stylish exterior along with its versatile interior makes it perfect for modders and gamers that don’t only enjoy putting a PC together, but also appreciate the opportunity to build in a stunning case as well as show off their handiwork.
