The AMD Ryzen 5 5500F is a six-core processor designed for gaming, streaming, and everyday applications on the AM4 platform. Thanks to SMT, it can handle up to twelve threads simultaneously, providing ample headroom for gaming and multitasking. Combined with a high boost clock of 4.4 GHz, the processor forms a solid AMD foundation for your gaming PC.
- Six cores and twelve threads for gaming and multitasking
- Up to 4.4 GHz boost clock for smooth gaming with high frame rates
- 16 MB L3 cache for fast data access and reduced stuttering
- Simple cooling solution thanks to included cooler and low TDP
- Unlocked multiplier for manual overclocking
Six Zen 3 cores for gaming and multitasking
The Ryzen 5 5500F offers six processor cores based on the Zen 3 architecture and processes up to twelve threads simultaneously thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading. The boost clock of up to 4.2 GHz provides additional computing power when individual cores are under heavier load. This makes the CPU suitable for gaming as well as parallel tasks such as streaming, communication, or background applications.
Large L3 cache for fast performance and stutter-free gaming
The 16 MB L3 cache keeps frequently used data close to the processor cores, thereby reducing unnecessary access to the main memory. The integrated memory controller supports DDR4 RAM in dual-channel mode. Together with the AM4 platform, this allows the processor to be integrated into systems with compatible DDR4 memory.
Designed for gaming
With the Ryzen 5 5500F, AMD has omitted the internal graphics unit. However, this is no disadvantage, especially for gaming PCs. The reason? In systems that are equipped with a dedicated graphics card anyway, an internal graphics unit would simply remain idle.
Instead, the Ryzen 5 5500F offers a slightly higher boost clock, which definitely matters more in games than a disabled graphics unit. Thanks to the CPU’s modest heat generation and the included cooler, the cooling requirements are already resolved out of the box.
