Fittings for Hard Tubing
In conventional tubing of water cooling systems, flexible hoses made of various materials have been used so far. Rigid tubing sections were isolated exceptions, such as between multiple graphics cards in a multi-VGA setup. Rubber hoses are pleasantly flexible but are often not as precise to install, or they do not stay in place as desired. A relatively new approach, but sufficiently tested, is tubing with rigid tubes made of acrylic.
Hard-Tubing Fittings in Abundance
The acrylic tubes are rigid and not bendable in their initial state, and can only be cut to the desired length. So how are they adapted to the custom water cooling components in the computer? The solution lies in heat. When the acrylic tubes are heated, they become flexible at a certain point. Now they can be laid out as desired. Once cooled, the rigid shape is permanently transferred to the tube, so tensions are a thing of the past. Just like with normal tubing, there are different outer and inner diameters (OD/ID) of the acrylic tubes, so it is important to ensure that the appropriate fittings are purchased, which are not compatible with normal hoses. But that's not a problem, because we offer a large selection of special hard-tubing fittings for the acrylic tubes - in the colors and shapes of your choice.
