AMD Motherboards
AMD Mainboards / Motherboards
The motherboard (or mainboard) is the central circuit board of the computer. All hardware components are plugged into or connected to the motherboard and managed by a BIOS chip. The most important part of AMD motherboards is the chipset (e.g., AM5), which facilitates communication between all hardware components. The chipset's functions are increasingly integrated into the processor on AMD motherboards.
The Foundation of Every AMD PC - Choose the Right Platform
AMD motherboards offer a wide variety of connections and high quality combined with long-term upward and downward compatibility at affordable prices. As a buyer, there are two main paths to take when choosing an AMD motherboard. The options are the AM5 or sTRX4 socket (HEDT CPUs). Common sizes for AMD motherboards include ATX, Micro-ATX, and ITX formats.
- The AM5 socket provides a home for processors from AMD's latest Ryzen series. The latest AMD chipsets for the AM5 socket, such as the X670, X670E, B650, and B650E, impress with modern features like USB 3.2, UEFI BIOS, or a high number of PCIe lanes in the 5.0 standard and support for high-speed DDR5 memory. Multiple graphics cards can be operated in Crossfire(X) mode.
- The sTRX4 socket is the basis for AMD's high-end desktop processors and offers many features for content creators.
- All AMD motherboards offer a wide range of peripheral connections and features. Today, AMD motherboards come equipped with 7.1 sound chips, fast M.2 NVMe connectors, various RAID modes, and often with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
