Mounting Kits for CPU Coolers

Mounting kits are used for attaching CPU coolers to the CPU socket. Although all coolers come with mounting materials for one or more sockets, additional installation accessories are often required for use on other platforms—the heatsink itself is compatible.

Compatibility with New Platforms Thanks to Retrofit Mounting Kits

Mounting kits include all the necessary parts to install the desired cooler on the respective socket. This allows older coolers to be easily retrofitted for use on new platforms. Mounting kits enable the continued use of an existing cooler in a new computer, making them a more cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new cooler. Additionally, models that do not support certain platforms in their original state can be adapted in this way.
