AMD Processors

The graphics card manufacturer ATI was acquired by AMD in 2006, and the corresponding expertise in the 3D and graphics chip segment was used to develop its own Accelerated Processing Units (APUs). This makes dedicated graphics cards unnecessary in entry-level PCs while still allowing games to be enjoyed in appealing quality with low power consumption.
AMD Ryzen: High-End CPUs for Gamers & Content Creators
The Ryzen 9 CPUs offer ten or more cores, which are virtually doubled to 20 or more threads through Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). Ryzen 9 processors are an excellent choice for both enthusiast gaming PCs and workstations. The Ryzen 7 series processors are primarily aimed at gamers who want to build a high-end gaming system with many cores at an unbeatable price. Both Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 are excellent choices for a streaming PC!
Ryzen 5 is the mid-range processor series and, with typically six cores including SMT, a good choice for gaming PCs. With Ryzen 3, AMD caters to the entry-level segment. Both the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 families include APUs: CPUs with particularly powerful graphics units. Such APUs are also often used in gaming consoles as SoC solutions and offer a lot of potential in gaming PCs or "living room PCs" in mini-ITX or HTPC format.
AMD Ryzen: The Fastest Gaming CPU
With the Zen 3 microarchitecture and the associated 5000 series processors, AMD secured the title of the fastest gaming processor (as of 11/2020). The Ryzen 9 5900X has topped the gaming benchmarks, while the Ryzen 9 5950X represents the ultimate for semi-professional and professional applications - in addition to gaming. With the Ryzen 5 5600X, AMD has also expanded its leading position in the mid-range segment.
AMD: High-End Performance at an Affordable Price
AMD processors based on the "Zen" architecture and its successors offer high efficiency, good performance, and outstanding value for money! In terms of gaming performance, AMD can gradually overtake the competition with Ryzen, while Ryzen should already be the first choice in the workstation segment. The first three "Zen" generations share the AM4 socket, which was introduced with the first Ryzen series. CPUs of the third generation can also be used on first-generation motherboards after a BIOS update of the chipset - although not all features may be supported.
