ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming: ATX Motherboard with AMD AM5
The ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming is equipped with the high-end X670E chipset for AMD's Ryzen 7000 series processors and comes with numerous features for overclockers. Since the Ryzen 7000 series processors require a new socket due to support for PCIe 5.0 and enhanced power delivery, the AM5 socket (LGA 1718) is used on the 600 series motherboards.
Despite the higher pin count of AM5, the actual size of the socket remains identical to the older generation, allowing most CPU coolers for AM4 sockets to be mounted on the motherboard.
