Noctua is a well-known name in the silent cooling sector, with the Austrian manufacturer's CPU coolers particularly enjoying an excellent reputation. They combine outstanding build quality with high cooling performance and minimal noise levels. Noctua's self-developed fans, which are also available separately, play a significant role in this, serving as case or CPU fans.
The NF-A8 is a quiet 80mm premium fan with a square AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame. Its square shape and 80mm mounting holes make it an excellent choice for use as a case fan. Through advanced aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A8 achieves even better silent cooling performance compared to the highly acclaimed NF-R8.
The PWM version is equipped with Noctua’s custom-designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control and comes with a Low-Noise Adapter that reduces the maximum speed from 2,200 to 1,750 RPM. Its performance-oriented top speed and comprehensive speed control options make the NF-A8 PWM a top solution for users looking to achieve a perfect balance between excellent cooling performance and superb smoothness—whether on heatsinks or for case ventilation!
Noctua’s NF-R8 has become a standard solution for PC enthusiasts who need premium-quality 80mm fans. With extensive aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A8 achieves even higher static pressure and further improved airflow-to-noise ratio compared to its renowned predecessor.
The NF-A8’s impeller features Flow Acceleration Channels on the suction side. By accelerating airflow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades, suction-side vortex shedding is reduced, leading to higher efficiency and lower turbulence-induced noise emissions.
Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame features integrated vibration buffers, a stepped inlet design, and inner surface microstructures, which allow for even better performance and noise efficiency.
The anti-vibration pads, made from extra-soft silicone, reduce the transmission of even the smallest vibrations and are compatible with all standard screws as well as commonly used mounting systems or fan clips used on CPU coolers.
To guarantee the highest level of manufacturing precision, minimal tolerances, and outstanding long-term stability, the NF-A8 uses a CNC-milled brass bearing shell. The NF-A8 is equipped with the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s proven SSO bearing system. In SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the fan axis, providing even better stabilisation, resulting in further improved precision and durability.
Noctua fans are renowned for their impeccable quality and exceptional longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A8 has an MTBF rating of over 150,000 hours and comes with a full 6-year manufacturer’s warranty.
