Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM Fan - 92mm

The NF-A9x14 PWM is a highly optimised, quiet 92 x 14 mm premium fan that utilises advanced aerodynamic design features such as Flow Acceleration Channels and Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame system. With a depth of just 14mm, the NF-A9x14 is perfect for low-profile CPU coolers and any other applications that require thinner fans. With a depth of only 14mm, the NF-A9x14 is significantly slimmer than standard 92 x 25mm fans. This makes it ideal for all applications where there isn’t enough space for standard fans, such as low-profile CPU coolers in HTPCs or server environments. The NF-A9x14’s impeller is equipped with Flow Acceleration Channels on the suction side. By accelerating airflow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades, suction-side vortex shedding is reduced, leading to higher efficiency and lower turbulence-related noise emissions.

Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame features integrated vibration buffers, a stepped inlet design, and inner surface microstructures, which allow for even better performance and noise efficiency. The stepped inlet design creates more turbulence in the intake, facilitating the transition from laminar to turbulent flow, which adheres better to the frame (flow attachment) and increases the fan’s suction capacity, particularly in restricted intake areas.

The inner surface microstructures create a boundary layer through which the tips of the fan blades move. This reduces flow separation from the suction side of the blade tips, resulting in a significant reduction in blade-passing noise and an increase in pressure and airflow efficiency. The anti-vibration pads, made from extra-soft silicone, reduce the transmission of even the smallest vibrations and are compatible with all standard screws as well as commonly used mounting systems or fan clips used on CPU coolers.

The NF-A9x14 is equipped with the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s proven SSO bearing system. In SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the fan axis, providing even better stabilisation, resulting in further improved precision and durability. The NF-A9x14 PWM supports fully automatic speed control via PWM, using Noctua’s new, custom-designed NE-FD1 chip. This new PWM IC integrates Noctua’s Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology, which minimises PWM switching noises, making the fan even quieter at low speeds.

The NF-A9x14 PWM comes with a Low-Noise Adapter (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum speed from 2200 to 1700 RPM. This allows you to either run the fan at a constant 1700 RPM or limit the maximum speed in PWM mode. While the short 20cm primary cable helps avoid cable clutter in typical applications, the included 30cm extension provides extra reach when needed. Both cables are fully sleeved, and a 4-pin Y-cable allows you to control a second PWM fan from the same header.
