The AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame solution combines the advantages of the Contact Frame and the CPU Guard for AMD's Ryzen 7000 and 9000 processors. By using the AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame as a Contact Frame, optimal pressure is achieved for the CPU in the socket. A supplied silicone foam insert provides additional protection for the exposed components on the CPU.

The design encases the heat spreader and acts as a replacement for the motherboard SAM, made from anodised aluminium. An optimised internal contour generates even pressure by creating multiple contact points to the heat spreader compared to the standard SAM. This ensures an even contact of the CPU contact surfaces on the socket pins, potentially avoiding issues with memory detection.

An innovative addition is the supplied silicone foam insert, which can be used similarly to the AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU Guard. During the installation of the AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame, this foam serves to seal the gap between the heat spreader and the aluminium frame. This prevents thermal paste or liquid metal from reaching the unprotected components of the CPU. When using liquid metal, this foam insert is mandatory, while it is optional when using thermal pastes.

Overclocking to the Limit

Usability has been improved with a clear marking on the top of the AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame. Installation is done in a specific orientation, supported by the recess at the top edge of the socket. The package includes four screws, and compatibility with Thermal Grizzly AM5 backplates is provided to facilitate installation.
