Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate 5080 Astral GPU Water Cooler, ARGB, with Backplate - Acrylic, Black

The DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 GPU water block features a massive copper cooler made up of two cold plates screwed together.

For the core cold plate, which makes direct contact with the graphics chip, a separately milled ultra-high-performance cold plate is used, featuring a 0.2 mm slot width, 0.2 mm fin width, and 2.5 mm fin height. The package includes TG Duronaut, TG Minus Pad Advance, and TG Putty Advance.

Massive Copper Cooler with Dual Cold Plate Design

The cooling performance of the DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5080 primarily relies on the optimised flow design of the coolant over the copper cooler. The cooler consists of two screwed-together components: the smaller core cold plate for the graphics chip and the VRM/VRAM cold plate for video memory and voltage regulators. Together with the aluminium housing and the viewing window, they form the complete water block.

The VRM/VRAM cold plate, weighing over 900 grams, is milled from high-quality copper and then precision blasted to achieve a uniform surface texture. The contact surfaces for VRAM and VRM are finely reworked in an additional CNC machining step after blasting to ensure optimal heat transfer. In the final manufacturing step, the copper parts are nickel-plated.

The separately manufactured ultra-high-performance cold plate is also initially precision blasted before the contact surface to the GPU is refined by highly precise CNC machining. The slot width is 0.2 mm, the fin width is also 0.2 mm, with a height of 2.5 mm. This results in a surface area of 13,440 mm² for the core cold plate. Both cold plates are fully CNC milled and are not produced using the skiving process.

DeltaMate GPU Block with RGB and Schott BOROFLOAT® Glass

The DeltaMate GPU water block for the ROG Astral RTX 5080 is delivered with the pre-assembled DeltaMate GPU Block - Direct Terminal made of brass. The terminal features an inlet and outlet with G1/4-inch threads, which both face forwards towards the front of the case when installed in a standard ATX case. Optionally, the DeltaMate GPU Block - Through Terminal is also available separately, offering additional inlets and outlets on the top and bottom.

Inside the black anodised aluminium housing of the water block is a strip of 14 addressable RGB LEDs that illuminate the viewing window made of Schott BOROFLOAT® glass. These LEDs can be controlled via a 3-pin ARGB header (+5V/DATA/GND) on the motherboard.

The borosilicate glass refracts the light from the integrated RGB lighting differently than acrylic glass. The edges of the Schott BOROFLOAT® glass are hand-polished after cutting with a waterjet cutter, which enhances this effect. Borosilicate glass is also UV-resistant, highly scratch-resistant, and less susceptible to alcohol-based cleaners.
