High-Performance Cooling Solutions - Made in Germany
Thermal Grizzly presents a new product with KryoSheet, which is part of the company's advertised "High Performance Cooling Solutions." The graphene thermal pads of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet series can be excellently used as an alternative to high-performance thermal pastes. Similar to the Carbonaut pads, they have an adaptable surface with very high thermal conductivity.
Compared to Carbonaut pads, KryoSheet, as a high-end product, offers significantly higher thermal conductivity. This increased thermal conductivity is not only based on the choice of material but also on the innovative manufacturing process. KryoSheet contains no liquid components and is therefore not subject to ordinary aging, as is the case with traditional thermal paste. Drying out is not possible.
What makes KryoSheet so special?
The KryoSheet graphene pads feature a Z-direction stacked molecular structure. This optimised structure enables outstanding and consistent thermal conductivity. This is due to a specially developed manufacturing process, where the hexagonal crystal structure of the graphite is broken along the basal plane to exploit the anisotropy of the thermal conductivity of graphite. However, as a side effect of this elaborate manufacturing process, the electrical conductivity is also increased, affecting the stability of the KryoSheet pads, so the pads should only be used according to the instructions!
Due to the optimised thermal conductivity of KryoSheet compared to Carbonaut, the focus of the graphene pads is on enthusiast products in the end-user segment as well as on industrial applications. Examples of the use of KryoSheet include refurbishing used graphics cards and notebooks/laptops.
Who is KryoSheet worth it for?
The easy application and durability of the KryoSheet pads are key advantages. The long lifespan of the pads means they are maintenance-free. In addition to industrial applications, such as server construction, this is also an advantage in home PC building or in the OEM sector. Since the pads do not need to be replaced at regular intervals like thermal paste, complex maintenance is eliminated.
The pads should be purchased in a size that is minimally larger than the area to be covered. In the case of an Intel desktop CPU (Socket 115x, 1200) with a heat spreader (IHS) size of 32 x 32 mm, the KryoSheet should be chosen in a size of 33 x 33 mm. After cleaning the contact surface (CPU, CPU cooler, GPU, GPU cooler), the KryoSheet is simply positioned on the processor or graphics chip to be cooled before the cooler is mounted.
