The WireView Pro II has been specifically developed for the demanding use of modern high-end graphics cards with 12V-2x6 connectors and represents the advanced version of the WireView Pro. As a patented development by Thermal Grizzly, it is protected by the European patent EP4250057. The current is measured not only as a total value but per conductor of the 12V-2x6 connector. This allows potential contact issues between the cable and graphics card to be identified immediately. The WireView Pro II was designed specifically to enable precise monitoring of the 12V-2x6 connector, allowing load distribution problems to be detected early and possible damage to the graphics card and the 12V-2x6 connector to be avoided.

Monitoring

All safety-relevant parameters such as currents (A), voltages (V), temperatures (°C), and power consumption (W) are continuously measured. Thermal Grizzly defines limit values for these that should not be exceeded during normal operation, as otherwise there is an increased risk of thermal damage to the connector. If a limit is exceeded, a visual warning appears on the display along with an audible alarm. Optionally, an automatic shutdown of the system via the supplied splitter cable is possible. The preset limit values can be adjusted via the configuration menu.

Cooling

Due to unavoidable contact resistances at connector joints, additional waste heat is generated during the operation of high-performance GPUs. For controlled heat dissipation, a semi-passive fan is integrated that operates silently at idle and activates automatically with increasing power consumption or temperature. The CNC-machined aluminium housing features ventilation openings and serves as an active heat sink. Optimised airflow through openings in the rear PCB supports air circulation along all heat-relevant components.

User-Friendliness

The WireView Pro II is available in two connector orientations and can therefore be used with almost any graphics card with a 12V-2x6 connection. The downward-facing connector orientation enables neat cable management and the device simultaneously acts as a 90° adapter. Multiple views are available on the integrated TFT-IPS display, which can be configured directly on the device. The device is fully usable as a hardware solution and will be expanded with software in the future. A corresponding update is planned for mid-December.

Automatic Data Logging

An integrated memory regularly logs relevant operating data to trace possible fault events. Recorded data include the 12-volt currents measured per pin, total power consumption, and temperature at the 12V-2x6 output (T-Out) near the connector. A data record is saved every 60 seconds. The memory supports about 340 days of full load or around 3-4 years of typical operation before older entries are automatically overwritten. The collected data support both fault analysis and the further development of safe connector solutions within the community.
