With the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition, you get maximum cache capacity and strong multi-core performance in a desktop processor. Thanks to 3D V-Cache on both CCDs, you have significantly more cache available than with previous X3D models – ideal for demanding applications, simulations, and data-intensive workloads.

  • 16 Zen 5 cores with 200 W Thermal Design Power (TDP)
  • 32 threads thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT)
  • High performance in gaming & productive applications
  • Base clock of 4.3 GHz & up to 5.6 GHz boost with Precision Boost 2
  • Extremely large cache: 192 MB 3D V-Cache (Dual-CCD)
  • Compatible with the AMD AM5 processor socket
  • Native support for DDR5 RAM up to 5,600 MT/s (dual-channel)
  • No CPU cooler included!

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2: First 16-core CPU with Dual 3D V-Cache

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition from the Granite Ridge processor family is based on the Zen 5 architecture and significantly expands the X3D concept: it is AMD’s first desktop processor to feature 3D V-Cache on both CCDs. This provides a total of 192 MB L3 cache.

With 16 physical cores and 32 threads, the CPU is ideal for parallel workloads. At the same time, the high boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz ensures fast response times in applications and games.

Full support for PCIe 5.0 and AM5 motherboards

Combined with an AMD X870(E) chipset, the processor supports the fast PCI Express 5.0 standard. Compared to PCIe 4.0, this provides significantly higher bandwidth – ideal for current graphics cards and NVMe SSDs.

All Ryzen 9000 processors use the AM5 platform. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is compatible with corresponding motherboards and can also run on older X670(E) and B650(E) boards – provided a BIOS update is installed.

Zen 5 architecture with high efficiency and overclocking support

The Zen 5 architecture offers strong performance per clock while optimising energy efficiency. Thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), each core can process two threads simultaneously.

The processor is unlocked for overclocking and supports features such as Precision Boost Overdrive, Curve Optimizer, and AMD EXPO for optimised memory operation.

The integrated memory controller supports DDR5 memory in dual-channel mode with a native speed of 5,600 MT/s. Higher clock rates are possible via EXPO profiles.

Dual 3D V-Cache: Maximum cache capacity for your applications and games

With the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, AMD introduces 3D V-Cache on both CCDs for the first time. This results in a significantly increased cache capacity compared to previous X3D processors.

  • 192 MB L3 cache: Extremely large data buffers directly on the CPU
  • Cache on both CCDs: Consistent performance under multi-core load
  • Reduced memory accesses: Faster processing of large data volumes

Applications with many simultaneous accesses particularly benefit: data stays longer in the cache and needs to be loaded less frequently from main memory. This leads to faster calculations and shorter loading times.

Gaming and rendering without frame loss

The 9950X3D2 targets users with high demands on computing power and data processing – for example in rendering, simulations, or complex workflows. Gaming systems also benefit from the large cache, especially in CPU-limited scenarios.

Notes: To utilise all features of PCI Express 5.0, an AM5 motherboard with an AMD X870(E), X670(E), or B650(E) chipset and the corresponding BIOS update is required. We also recommend a BIOS update for 800-series chipsets.
