The ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI is equipped with the B650E chipset for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processors and offers numerous features for overclockers and gamers. Since the Ryzen 7000 processors require a new socket due to PCIe 5.0 support and enhanced power delivery, the 600-series motherboards use the AM5 socket (LGA 1718).
Despite the higher pin count with AM5, the actual socket size remains identical to the previous generation, so most CPU coolers for the AM4 socket can also be mounted on this motherboard.
