This InLine® DisplayPort 1.2 cable meets the standards promoted by the Video Electronics Standards Association VESA. The specification published in 2006 has been optimised and extended over the years. DisplayPort now supports Multi Stream Transport (MST) protocols, 3D, colour profiles xvYCC, scRGB, Adobe RGB 1998, HDCP 1.3 and DPCP (Displayport Con- tent Protection). By expanding the data rate of the AUX channels to 720 Mbit/s, the DisplayPort interface increases bandwidth. The current version 1.3 (as of 2015) increases the maximum data rate to 810 MB/s for each of the 4 channels for a total of 3.24 GByte/s. This translates into a theoretical maximum resolution of 5K (5120 × 2880) at 60fps and 8bit colour depth. The 4:2:0 subsampling of chrominance enables compression, so that UHD-2 displays are supported. Ideal for home theatre entertainment systems, presentations, training sessions or video conferences, and Digital Signage installations.
