Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX Fan - 40mm

The NF-A4x10 FLX is a highly optimized, premium-quality, quiet 40 x 10mm fan that utilizes Noctua's AAO frame system and advanced aerodynamic features like Flow Acceleration Channels. The Smooth Commutation Drive technology and reference-class SSO2 bearing ensure excellent quiet operation and long-term stability. Modular cabling, a Low-Noise Adapter, the OmniJoin adapter set, and a 6-year manufacturer warranty make the NF-A4x10 a premium solution for the highest demands.

The impeller of the NF-A4x10 features Flow Acceleration Channels on the suction side. By accelerating airflow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades, suction side flow separation is reduced, resulting in higher efficiency and lower turbulence-related noise emissions. Thanks to an optimized, compact motor design, the hub area of the NF-A4x10 is significantly smaller than conventional 4cm fans, allowing for larger blade surface area, contributing to the fan's superior pressure and airflow performance.

Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame includes integrated vibration dampers, a stepped inlet design, and inner surface microstructures that enhance performance/noise efficiency. The stepped inlet design creates more turbulence in the airflow, improving the transition from laminar to turbulent flow and increasing the fan's suction capacity, especially in restricted intake environments.

The inner surface microstructures create a boundary layer where the fan blade tips move, reducing flow separation and noise while improving pressure and airflow efficiency. The extra-soft silicone anti-vibration pads minimize the transmission of minute vibrations and are compatible with all standard screws and mounting systems or fan clips used on CPU coolers.

Noctua's latest version of the SCD drive system eliminates torque variations and switching noises, ensuring excellent smooth operation, making the NF-A4x10 surprisingly quiet even at close range. The NF-A4x10 features the second-generation SSO bearing system, with the rear magnet positioned closer to the fan axis for better stabilization, improving precision and durability.

The NF-A4x10 FLX (Flexibility) can be throttled from 4,500 to 3,700 RPM using the included Low-Noise Adapter, allowing fine-tuning for maximum airflow or ultra-quiet operation. The fan is supplied with a 3-Pin Molex to 2-Pin adapter, commonly used in graphics cards, network, and storage devices, with a built-in diode providing reverse polarity protection when using 2-Pin connectors.

Since many devices using 40mm fans have proprietary connectors, the NF-A4x10 includes Noctua's OmniJoin adapter set. Simply cut the original fan's cable, attach it to the adapter using the included 3M Scotchlok™ clips, and the NF-A4x10 can be used with proprietary connectors. The 20cm primary cable helps avoid cable clutter in typical applications, while the included 30cm extension provides extra reach for more extended setups. Both cables are fully sleeved.
