Thermal Grizzly Delidded CPU: Maximum cooling performance, maximum gaming power
The TG Delidded CPU is a processor that has been delidded and subsequently tested by Thermal Grizzly's specialists. During delidding or "didding" of CPUs, the heat spreader of the processor is removed. This processor is aimed at extreme overclockers who want to extract every bit of performance from the CPU with minimal heat generation.
What is delidding?
In delidding (English for "didding"; to delid: "to remove the lid"), the heat spreader of the processor is removed. By delidding, it is possible to cool the CPU chip or the chiplets directly, thereby eliminating the detour of waste heat through the heat spreader. Depending on the application, this can mean temperatures up to 20 °C better. However, delidding is associated with risks and leads to the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty.
Delidded and tested by specialists - maximum safety
At this point, the new TG Delidded CPU comes into play: Thermal Grizzly delids the CPU and assumes the manufacturer's warranty! After delidding, Thermal Grizzly's specialists conduct a functional test of the delidded CPUs.
The temperature measured during testing is documented via screenshot and saved on a USB stick that accompanies the processor. Also on the USB stick is a photo of the delidded processor taken under a microscope.
Versatile cooling options: Direct Die, liquid metal, or custom water cooling
The delidded CPU can be used with direct-die cooling solutions such as the Mycro Direct-Die, the Mycro Direct Die Pro, or the High Performance Heatspreader from Thermal Grizzly. The CPU is also compatible with heat spreaders from other manufacturers. For the best possible heat transfer, the manufacturer recommends using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme on the CPU die or the chiplets of the CPU.
