Thermal Grizzly Delidded CPU: Maximum Cooling Performance, Maximum Gaming Power
The TG Delidded CPU is a processor delidded and subsequently tested by Thermal Grizzly’s specialists. When delidding or “removing the lid” of CPUs, the processor’s heatspreader is removed. This processor is aimed at extreme overclockers who want to squeeze every bit of performance from the CPU while generating as little heat as possible.
What is Delidding?
Delidding (English for “removing the lid”; to delid: “to remove the lid”) involves removing the processor’s heatspreader. By removing the lid, it becomes possible to cool the CPU chip or chiplets directly, thereby eliminating the detour of heat dissipation through the heatspreader. Depending on the use case, this can mean up to 20 °C better temperatures. However, delidding carries risks and voids the manufacturer’s warranty.
Delidded and Tested by Specialists – More Security Is Not Possible
This is where the new TG Delidded CPU comes in: Thermal Grizzly delids the CPU and assumes the manufacturer’s warranty! After delidding, Thermal Grizzly’s specialists perform a functional test on the delidded CPUs.
The temperature measured during testing is documented with a screenshot and saved on a USB stick included with the processor. Also on the USB stick is a microscope photo of the delidded processor.
Versatile Cooling Options: Direct Die, Liquid Metal or Custom Water Cooling
The delidded CPU can be used with direct-die cooling solutions such as the Mycro Direct-Die, the Mycro Direct Die Pro, or Thermal Grizzly’s High Performance Heatspreader. The CPU is also compatible with heatspreaders from other manufacturers. For optimal heat transfer, the manufacturer recommends using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme on the CPU die or the CPU’s chiplets.
