The Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate GPU Block - ROG Astral RTX 5090 features a massive copper cooler with two coldplates screwed together. The separate core coldplate sits directly on the graphics chip, while a second coldplate covers the VRAM and voltage regulators.

Massive copper cooler with dual coldplate design

The cooling performance is based on an optimised flow design over two separate copper coldplates. The smaller core coldplate transfers heat directly from the graphics chip, while the larger VRM/VRAM coldplate covers video memory and voltage regulators. This ensures that the central heat-generating areas of the graphics card are specifically integrated into the water circuit.

The VRM/VRAM coldplate, weighing over 900 g, is milled from copper, precision blasted, and the contact surfaces for memory and voltage regulators are additionally CNC-finished. The copper parts are then nickel-plated to achieve a uniform and durable surface.

Fine microstructure for the graphics chip

A separately manufactured ultra-high-performance coldplate is used for direct contact with the GPU. It features 0.2 mm wide slots, 0.2 mm wide fins, and a fin height of 2.5 mm. This results in a surface area of 13,440 mm² through which the heat from the graphics chip is transferred to the cooling liquid.

The core coldplate is fully CNC-milled and then precision blasted. The contact surface to the GPU receives an additional highly precise CNC treatment afterwards. No skiving process is used on either coldplate.

RGB lighting and flexible connections

The water block is supplied with the pre-assembled DeltaMate GPU Block - Direct Terminal made of brass. This provides one inlet and one outlet with G1/4-inch threads. For alternative hose routing, the DeltaMate GPU Block “Through Terminal” with additional connections on the top and bottom is optionally available.

A strip with 14 addressable RGB LEDs is housed in the black anodised aluminium casing. These illuminate the viewing window made of Schott BOROFLOAT glass and can be controlled via a 3-pin ARGB header on the motherboard.

The borosilicate glass used is UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, and less sensitive to alcohol-based cleaners than acrylic glass. The edges are hand-polished with a water jet after cutting, enhancing the light refraction effect of the integrated RGB lighting.
