    PC Monitors

The monitor is the most important output device for your PC, as it displays the graphical user interface of your computer. There are many different types, sizes, and a range of features, such as NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync, with which modern screens cater to various users like gamers, content creators, or office users. Caseking offers an extensive range of monitors that are perfect for PC gaming, console gaming, and work. All monitors are available in various sizes, such as 27 inches, 32 inches, 38 inches, 40 inches, and more.

    What Monitor Size Makes Sense?

Large monitors are becoming increasingly affordable because monitors are getting bigger. The size of your screen is measured diagonally from corner to corner and is usually simplified to 24 inches, 27 inches, 32 inches, and so on. For most users, this answers the question of size. We recommend choosing a higher resolution with a larger display to get a sharp image on your new screen. For example, a 40-inch monitor with a 1080p resolution may appear "soft" due to pixel density. For larger monitors from 32 inches (about 81 cm), we recommend a resolution of 4K or at least WQHD.

Choosing the right monitor size can be a difficult decision as it depends on several factors. The most important consideration when choosing the size of your monitor should be the number of screens you want to use. Because there is limited space on your desk, not every size and shape is suitable for placing two monitors side by side.

What Screen Size for a Dual Monitor Setup?

The best display sizes for a dual-monitor setup are 24 and 27 inches (ca. 69 cm), as they fit perfectly on most desks with a width between 1.40 m and 1.80 m. So, if you plan to add a second monitor later or already have a second screen, we recommend another monitor between 24 and 27 inches in size.

    What Size for Ultrawide Monitors?

Ultrawide monitors offer an aspect ratio of 21:9 or 32:9 instead of the now common 16:9 aspect ratio. This gives them more width but less height. As a single screen on the desk, the extra-wide PC monitors make quite an impression. The best sizes for ultrawide monitors are screen diagonals of 34 inches (0.86 m) and above. Smaller ultrawide monitors hardly make sense if two standard monitors are to be replaced.

Dual Monitor Setup with Ultrawide Monitors

Ultrawide monitors require more width, making them less suitable for dual-monitor setups. If you want to use two ultrawide monitors, we recommend positioning them above each other using a monitor mount.

Which is Better: 24 or 27 Inches?

The most popular screen size currently is 27 inches (ca. 69 cm) (about 69 cm) with a WQHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. These monitors can be used excellently both individually and in pairs. Moreover, monitors with a diagonal of 68.58 cm are now relatively inexpensive. Therefore, gaming monitors in a size of 27 inches, as well as conventional PC monitors in this size, are very much in demand.

Monitor Trend 2023: 32 Inches with 4K Resolution

The luxury class in 2023 are 32-inch (about 81 cm) monitors with 4K UHD resolution in the 16:9 format. A 32-inch screen with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels (UHD 4K) and a 16:9 aspect ratio offers you the most space and an optimal display size for all content and for dividing your screen area. In addition, 31.5-inch (about 80 cm) gaming monitors are now available with 4K, at least 144 Hz, and IPS panels.

Gaming Monitors: PC Screens for Gamers

In line with our gaming PCs, we offer a wide selection of gaming monitors at affordable prices. Screens for gamers are designed to display PC games optimally and offer some important features for PC gamers, such as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC, to provide the best possible gaming experience.

Gaming Monitors with 144, 240, or 360 Hz for Maximum FPS

A refresh rate of 60 Hertz is a good standard for smooth display, but especially e-sports players and ambitious online gamers want more. High refresh rates from 120 Hz ensure that at least twice as many frames per second are presented to the eye. Especially with fast mouse movements, the refresh rate of the monitor plays a crucial role, as the image blurs less, allowing the player to aim better during the turn.

Refresh Rate: How Many Hz Do I Need for Gaming?

60 Hz or rather 360 Hz? We’ll tell you when a high refresh rate is worth it for you and which resolution goes with it.

    Refresh RateMax FPSResolutionApplication Area
360 Hz 360 FPS Full HD eSports
240 Hz 240 FPS Full HD, WQHD Online Multiplayer
144 Hz 144 FPS WQHD, 4K UHD Online Multiplayer, Singleplayer
60 Hz 60 FPS Full HD, WQHD, 4K UHD Singleplayer, Casual Gaming

Monitors with Variable Refresh Rate: G-SYNC & FreeSync

In addition to the fixed vertical refresh rate via V-Sync, gaming monitors also offer the ability to adjust the refresh rate to the exact FPS delivered by the graphics card. These technologies are certified by the graphics card manufacturers. For AMD Radeon, the VRR technology is called FreeSync, for NVIDIA GeForce, it is called G-SYNC.

    • Buy NVIDIA G-SYNC Monitor
    • Buy AMD FreeSync Monitor

    Response Time of Monitors

The response time of your gaming monitor indicates how long the transistors built into the panel take to switch colours. The response time should be as low as possible.

The variety of monitors is huge, so we help you find the right screen for you quickly and easily with practical filters. Here we pursue two approaches to choosing your screen:

    Buy Monitors by Type

Every so often it just has to be that certain something! Whether you are looking for a monitor with a specific resolution, variable refresh rate via G-SYNC or FreeSync, particularly high refresh rate. Or a computer screen in the extravagant ultrawide format or with a curved display, we have sorted our PC monitors for you by specific features.

    • Buy Ultrawide Monitor
    • Buy Monitor with Curved Display

What is the Panel in a Monitor?

The most important distinguishing feature of monitors is the panel technology, as it largely determines the picture quality. Basically, there are four panel types that offer different advantages and prices.

These Display Panels are Currently Available

    • VA Panel (Vertical Alignment)
    • IPS Panel (In-Plane Switching)
    • OLED Panel (Organic Light-Emitting Diode)
    • TN Panel (Twisted Nematic)

    Monitors with VA Panel

VA panels offer brilliant colour representation and can be produced relatively cheaply in large sizes. Therefore, they are regularly used in both PC monitors and flat TVs. Unfortunately, most monitors with VA panels have a slow transition speed from black to gray pixels, which leads to noticeable trailing behind fast-moving objects in dark scenes. This form of ghosting is typically referred to as "dark level smearing" and is more noticeable to players at a close distance to the screen than if they are further away from it.

    Monitors with IPS Panel

Monitors with IPS displays offer excellent, precise color representation. Nowadays, IPS monitors have also caught up in terms of speed and are therefore suitable for competitive shooters as well as immersive role-playing games. Short response times of 1 ms and high refresh rates in the range of 360 Hz are possible with an IPS panel without having to compromise.

    Monitors with OLED Panel

Organic LEDs made of self-illuminating material do not require backlighting and pave the way for true-to-life color representation and ideal contrasts. OLED displays enable particularly high contrasts, and pixels that are supposed to display black are truly black, not just dark gray.

    Curved Displays

There is now an increasing range of curved displays in almost all panel types. They are divided into different curvature radii, with a curvature of 1000R being the strongest, and 4000R being the weakest. The curvature radius follows the natural curvature of the human eye of 1000R. With large flat monitors, depending on the distance to the monitor, the edges can only be perceived as blurry, requiring us to turn our heads to save our eyes. The chosen curvature, therefore, depends on the distance of your eyes to the monitor:

    • 1000R: maximum distance to the screen: 1 meter
    • 1800R: maximum distance to the screen: 1.8 meters
    • 2300R: maximum distance to the screen: 2.3 meters
    • 3000R: maximum distance to the screen: 3 meters
    • 4000R: maximum distance to the screen: 4 meters

In addition to the ergonomic advantage, curved monitors offer a beautiful panoramic view for less stressed eyes and especially enhance immersion in games. Additionally, they just look great on their own or in dual or triple monitor setups!

    Monitors with TN Panel

Twisted Nematic is the first and historically the most widespread panel type when it comes to flat screens. Gaming monitors with LCD technology were initially only realizable with TN panels because they were faster and thus the only ones to offer smooth display, no ghosting, and short response times. Ambitious gamers were happy to accept the poorer viewing angles and colour representation.

    Resolution of PC Monitors

Each monitor has a maximum displayable, native resolution. This means that the display is designed exactly for this resolution. Any other resolution must be interpolated, leading to blurry results. The most common monitor resolutions include Full HD (Full High-Definition), WQHD (Wide Quad High-Definition), and UHD (Ultra High-Definition), as they all belong to the 16:9 aspect ratio.

A Full-HD monitor displays a maximum of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at a 16:9 aspect ratio. A UHD screen, on the other hand, can display at least 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, four times the resolution of Full HD. 4K monitors are a variant of UHD monitors. They offer a resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels, which is also used in digital cinemas. With a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, WQHD monitors are between Full HD and UHD.
