Aluminium Cases
Aluminium Cases
Among PC enthusiasts, one material holds a particularly distinguished place when it comes to what the ideal computer case should be made of: aluminium. For many users, this lightweight metal represents the pinnacle of case aesthetics and is associated with several positive aspects that other materials like steel or glass do not offer.
What Makes Aluminium or Alu Cases Stand Out
Compared to steel, aluminium is firstly lighter but offers nearly comparable stability and rigidity. This lower weight makes it easier to transport computers. Additionally, aluminium has a higher thermal conductivity than steel, which improves the passive cooling of PC parts through the case itself. And, of course, a high-quality aluminium case - whether it be a tower, cube, or HTPC - looks very premium and elegant. This is often enhanced by a brushed structure ('brushed aluminium') or colour anodized case parts, with the chemical anodization process always yielding a more attractive result than painting on steel.
