Monitors Up to 22 Inches (55.88 cm Screen Size)
Monitors up to 22 inches (55.88 cm) are perfect for those seeking a compact yet efficient display for work, entertainment, or general use. These smaller screens are ideal for desks with limited space, offering sharp images and reliable performance without overwhelming your setup. Whether you're working from home, browsing the web, or enjoying multimedia, a monitor of this size provides the functionality you need in a manageable form factor.
Monitors up to 22 Inches
Among the various sizes, a diagonal of up to 22 inches (approximately 56 cm) for monitors is considered small and is primarily suitable as an office monitor, but also as a gaming monitor if you're not too interested in a large screen. Especially if there is limited space in the office or at your home gaming desk, the distance to the viewer is short, or multiple screens are needed for multi-monitor operation, compact models are ideal. With monitors up to 22 inches, there is not much more to consider than with other monitors. If you primarily use the monitor for gaming, you should look for a low response time. A 4K UHD resolution is not necessary for this screen size. Full HD or slightly above is entirely sufficient for an excellent picture at this size. For resolutions higher than Full HD, you should also use a DisplayPort and have a corresponding graphics card for small and medium-sized monitors.
Monitors up to 22 inches – excellent technology can also be compact
- The most important distinguishing feature of a monitor, in general, is the panel technology. Most LCD monitors use tried-and-true TN panels, which are increasingly being replaced by advanced IPS/PLS and MVA/PVA panels with better viewing angle stability and contrast ratios.
- Other important features include the already mentioned resolution (such as 1080p/Full HD or 4K/UltraHD), brightness, response time, or refresh rate - with 60 Hz to 120 Hz or even 240 Hz for 3D-capable gaming monitors.
- Compared to analogue VGA connections, digital DVI or HDMI connections offer better image quality. For gaming, however, a DisplayPort is better, if only because of the higher refresh rate. Many screens also offer additional connections with integrated DVB-TV tuners (e.g. SCART or Component Video).
- Other features can include height adjustability, pivot, swivel and/or tilt, multi-monitor operation (such as AMD Eyefinity), integrated speakers, touchscreen functions, or compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC or AMD FreeSync/AdaptiveSync.
