Ducky ProjectD: Outlaw 65 - High-End Mechanical Keyboard for Gamers
With the mechanical gaming keyboard Outlaw 65, Ducky aims to set new standards. The manufacturer's most elaborate work to date offers everything your enthusiast heart desires: A comprehensive modular, mechanical keyboard with precise craftsmanship using high-quality materials.
Thanks to the Hot-Swap compatibility, you can equip the keyboard with your favorite switches and easily replace them as desired. As usual, Ducky equips the keyboard with stylish RGB lighting and a high polling rate, seamlessly integrating it into your setup and providing excellent service for gaming.
High-quality Materials for Your Custom Keyboard
The CNC-milled and sandblasted outer housing of the keyboard is made of high-quality aluminium. The baseplate also has a layer of carbon. Additionally, Ducky offers plates made of POM, FR-4, or Polycarbonate.
FR-4 is a special material made of epoxy resin and glass fibre fabric, used in aviation, offering particularly high stiffness. The material is also difficult to ignite.
SF Form Factor for More Space on Your Desk
The Outlaw 65 is designed in the SF form factor. By omitting the numeric keypad, function keys, and some of the navigation keys, it requires even less space on the desk than a typical TKL keyboard, but it is also less suitable for office applications. To save space, the arrow keys are also indented.
QUACK Mechanics and ProjectD
This keyboard follows Ducky's design philosophy QUACK Mechanics. Ducky considers four essential aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: keycaps, housing, sound, and stabilisers.
Under the project name ProjectD, Ducky introduces high-quality mechanical keyboards that give enthusiasts the opportunity to customise their input device even more and experiment with different materials.
Ergonomics and Damping for a Soft Sound
To customise the Outlaw 65 to your personal needs, the keyboard can be adjusted using feet in two levels, 5 degrees or 7.9 degrees. The Gasket-Mount design helps to absorb unwanted vibrations that could tarnish the noble sound of your keyboard.
Damping layers of Poron minimise vibrations and provide a pleasant typing experience and balanced sound. Using numerous optional dampers made of Poron and rubber, you can also adjust the spring properties of your keyboard. This way, you can choose whether you prefer a rigid, hard keyboard or a softly dampened typing feel.
N-Key Rollover and High Polling Rate for Precise Gaming
For gamers, the Outlaw 65 offers numerous features that make it a true gaming keyboard. The N-Key Rollover ensures that all your inputs are correctly captured, and the high polling rate of 1,000 Hz ensures a delay-free and loss-free signal transmission.
Assembly of Your Personal Keyboard
The Ducky Outlaw 65 comes as a Do-It-Yourself kit and is waiting to be assembled by you. First, using the included hex screwdriver, you screw the carbon bottom plate to the aluminium frame parts and attach the feet. Once done, you can screw the supplied stabilisers onto the corresponding positions on the PCB.
Afterwards, you have the option to choose your Switchplate made of FR-4 or POM, which you screw together with a damping Poron insert to the PCB. Subsequently, you can install the top side of the frame and you are ready for the first typing test with switches and keycaps.
The typing feel and sound experience of your keyboard can be further refined by attaching the supplied rubber socks and Poron dampers to the contact surfaces between the PCB and frame. Additionally, you can insert another damping layer of Poron between the bottom plate and the circuit board to give your keyboard ultimate damping properties.
Atmospheric RGB Lighting for Your Gaming Setup
The Ducky Outlaw 65 features downward-facing Per-Key LEDs that beautifully illuminate your keyboard. Using key combinations, you can cycle through various lighting modes and colours. The lighting can also be deactivated if desired. Thus, Ducky provides you with the necessary tools to showcase your keyboard appropriately, matching your setup. Also included is a practical transport case.
Switches and Keycaps for Your Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
This barebone variant of the Ducky Outlaw 65 comes without switches and keycaps, allowing you to decide according to your preference which switches and keycaps you want to use.
