The mechanical gaming keyboard Ducky One 3 has been designed to provide you with the best possible typing experience. With high-end build quality and optimised for short response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing feel. Furthermore, the switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, making them easy to replace without any soldering.
This version of the Ducky One 3 comes in the 80% TKL form factor. By omitting the number pad, it takes up less desk space, though it is less suited for office tasks.
Mechanical switches in detail: Cherry MX Brown
This version uses Cherry MX Brown switches. Keyboards with these switches strike a balance between pure gaming and optimal typing. When pressing a key, the user must overcome a slight resistance that gives tactile feedback upon actuation. Thanks to the two closely spaced actuation points, you can not only type noticeably faster but also perform repeated keystrokes with very little travel distance.QUACK Mechanics
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy. Ducky addresses four essential aspects that influence the typing experience: the keycaps, the case, the sound, and the stabilisers.
This version of the Ducky One 3 therefore features high-quality keycaps made from polycarbonate (PC). The pudding keycaps are transparent at the bottom and black-coated at the top, with cut-out legends. Ducky moulds the keycaps using two layers of plastic. The double-shot process ensures increased durability.
Low-profile case and soft acoustics
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed case of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than its predecessors and, combined with the three-stage feet, eases strain on the wrist.
To enhance sound and typing comfort, Ducky tested 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable one for the Q-Bounce pad. This is paired with an additional EVA foam layer to effectively dampen typing resonance and harsh keystrokes.
