Full Tower PC Cases

Full towers are the go-to choice for high-performance builds with maximum hardware potential. These spacious chassis offer exceptional room for E-ATX motherboards, multi-GPU setups, and advanced cooling solutions. Whether you're planning a custom water-cooling loop or just want the freedom to expand, full towers deliver the space and airflow to match your ambitions. Perfect for enthusiasts, overclockers, and anyone who builds without limits.

Full Tower / Big Tower Computer Cases

Within the case landscape, distinguishing full towers from mid towers is not such a clear-cut matter. There is no single clear criterion for classification, nor can one be considered universally binding. Instead, it is a combination of various features that collectively form the image of a full tower, which is sometimes also referred to as a super-tower.

Characteristics of a Full-Tower Case

It is certainly the sum of some or all of the qualities listed below that define a full tower:

  • Size

Naturally, sheer size is one of the essential criteria for a full tower. Those who opt for a big case want ample space inside the case. Installing and modifying individual system components can be significantly more comfortable as a result.
  • Hardware Compatibility

Closely related to size are the installation possibilities for hardware parts. Full towers can generally accommodate the longest high-end graphics cards and the tallest tower coolers for CPU cooling.
  • Mainboard Compatibility

This becomes essential for some users regarding particularly large motherboard formats. Often, only full tower cases can accommodate expansive board standards like E-ATX, XL-ATX, or even HPTX, as seen in some enthusiast boards.
  • Drive Slots

Some expect a full tower to offer the possibility of housing numerous 5.25-inch drives and storage devices in 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch formats. Given that more users can entirely do without optical drives (CD/DVD/Blu-ray), case manufacturers are increasingly finding new ways to use the freed-up space for other purposes (e.g., for hard drives).
  • Air Cooling for Hardware

Where a full tower is used, particularly powerful hardware is often installed, so exceptionally good ventilation with many fan slots and pre-installed large fans is considered standard for this type of case.
  • Water Cooling for Hardware

Custom water cooling systems, in particular, require a lot of space for radiators, tubing, reservoirs, and pumps, which full tower cases usually provide in abundance.
